Our Mission.
For our English 1102 group project, we were assigned to take one of the questions opened by a PechaKucha topic and seriously investigate it. The question we chose to investigate is whether 13 Reasons Why is a realistic portrayal of teen suicide. Furthermore, we want to analyze how media represents suicide in comparison with 13 Reasons Why. In order to do this, we will have a page listing the pros of the show, a page listing the cons of the show, a blog post consisting of our personal opinions regarding the topic and other representations of suicide in media, and an about page that includes suicide statistics, personal accounts, and resources to contact. We included both a pros and a cons page to present the information in an unbiased manner before analyzing it ourselves in our blog posts. All of the outside resources that we used can be found in references button below.
